Celebrations marked China's National Pavilion Day at the World Expo in Osaka, Japan. It showcased a mix of performances and traditional art, capturing a range of Chinese elements. CMG Reporter Bai Chunyang reports.
On Friday, celebrations have been held marking National Chinese Pavilion Day at the 2025 World Expo here in Osaka. The China Pavilion put on a vibrant performance called "Splendid China, Shaping the Future Together."
It was a dazzling showcase of China's rich history and cultural charm, while also highlighting its commitment to working with the global community for a brighter, shared future.
"I play the role of the 'Feitian Long Silk Dance' from Qin Feng Tang Yun. This dance is inspired by the Dunhuang murals and represents the richness of traditional Chinese culture. I feel incredibly happy and excited to perform for China's Pavilion Day. It's a wonderful opportunity to share our outstanding Chinese culture with the world and contribute to the platform of China-Japan friendship. I'm also grateful for this stage, as it allows me to better engage with the world."
"We come from Shaanxi – Xi'an and Yan'an."
"This is the first time our team traveled abroad to perform, and I feel deeply honored. Our piece is titled 'Red: The Dragon and the Youth.' The dragon symbolizes the totem of China, while the youth represents us – the new generation. Through this performance, we want to showcase the spirit and vitality of Chinese youth to the world and international friends."
"We also warmly welcome everyone to come visit China."
SASHA LEBAN Commissioner General Republic of Slovenia "I think that today's performance really conveys the story of China, everything, the story of the pavilion. And I'm impressed, as always, with Chinese impeccable performance, acrobats, excellent voice. I mean, no mistakes. The whole immersion of the background, singing, dancing is just impressive. And I think really, really good representation of where China today is."
The China Pavilion is one of the standout attractions at the Expo, drawing over 760,000 visitors from around the world since it opened.
WU SHENGRONG Commissioner General, China Pavilion Expo 2025 Osaka "We try to promote dialogue and cooperation among different civilizations, and contribute Chinese wisdom and solutions to building a vibrant future."
BAI CHUNYANG Osaka, Japan "With summer vacation just around the corner, the Expo is gearing up for even more visitors, and the China Pavilion is ready to welcome them. Bai Chunyang, for CGTN, Osaka, Japan."
